“A Hireling sent from our Enemies…!”

The church who desires for God to he the Shepherd (Jn. 10:11) is blessed by God with a specifically chosen under-shepherd sent to nurture (edify) and protect His sheep. Unfortunately, in the absence of a called, chosen, under-shepherd, the sheep settle for hiring someone that looks like an under-shepherd but doesn’t act like one. How can we identify a hireling…?! God identifies them as those that contradicts, opposes, and refuses instruction and doctrine while convincing others to follow them in opposition to the under-shepherd (Acts 13:45)

Verse 10
“For there are many rebellious people, full of meaningless talk and deception, especially those of the circumcision group.”
Unruly – anypotaktos – no control, disobedient, not subject to authority (Heb. 2:8)
Vain Talkers – mataiologos – idle talker, empty senseless things (2 Tim. 2:23)
Deceivers – phrenapatēs – mind deceiver, seducer (Ps. 52:2)

For you, brothers and sisters, became imitators of God’s churches in Judea, which are in Christ Jesus: You suffered from your own people the same things those churches suffered from the Jews who killed the Lord Jesus and the prophets and also drove us out. They displease God and are hostile to everyone in their effort to keep us from speaking to the Gentiles so that they may be saved. In this way they always heap up their sins to the limit. The wrath of God has come upon them at last.
