The church who desires for God to he the Shepherd (Jn. 10:11) is blessed by God with a specifically chosen under-shepherd sent to nurture (edify) and protect His sheep. Unfortunately, in the absence of a called, chosen, under-shepherd, the sheep settle for hiring someone that looks like an under-shepherd but doesn’t act like one. How can we identify a hireling…?! God identifies them as those that contradicts, opposes, and refuses instruction and doctrine while convincing others to follow them in opposition to the under-shepherd (Acts 13:45)

Verses for A Hireling sent from our Enemies
“I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. The hired hand is not the shepherd and does not own the sheep. So when he sees the wolf coming, he abandons the sheep and runs away. Then the wolf attacks the flock and scatters it. The man runs away because he is a hired hand and cares nothing for the sheep.
When the Jews saw the crowds, they were filled with jealousy. They began to contradict what Paul was saying and heaped abuse on him.
But we do see Jesus, who was made lower than the angels for a little while, now crowned with glory and honor because he suffered death, so that by the grace of God he might taste death for everyone.
2 Timothy 2:23
Don’t have anything to do with foolish and stupid arguments, because you know they produce quarrels.
You who practice deceit, your tongue plots destruction; it is like a sharpened razor.
What advantage, then, is there in being a Jew, or what value is there in circumcision?
Even fools are thought wise if they keep silent, and discerning if they hold their tongues.
2 Timothy 2:18
who have departed from the truth. They say that the resurrection has already taken place, and they destroy the faith of some.
and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
1 Samuel 8:3
But his sons did not follow his ways. They turned aside after dishonest gain and accepted bribes and perverted justice.
1 Thessalonians 2:14-16
For you, brothers and sisters, became imitators of God’s churches in Judea, which are in Christ Jesus: You suffered from your own people the same things those churches suffered from the Jews who killed the Lord Jesus and the prophets and also drove us out. They displease God and are hostile to everyone in their effort to keep us from speaking to the Gentiles so that they may be saved. In this way they always heap up their sins to the limit. The wrath of God has come upon them at last.
Not at all! Let God be true, and every human being a liar. As it is written: “So that you may be proved right when you speak and prevail when you judge.
Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
1 Timothy 5:13
Besides, they get into the habit of being idle and going about from house to house. And not only do they become idlers, but also busybodies who talk nonsense, saying things they ought not to.
